Information about Eva
I am an intellectually driven teacher with an infectious enthusiasm for learning and for life. I aim to embody and inspire intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and positive learning habits, to build confidence and ambition in my students.
I have a first class degree in Classics from the University of Cambridge and a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education, with distinction, from the University of Buckingham, also gaining my Qualified Teacher Status.
I did my PGCE while working full-time in prep school in Oxford, where I worked for two years, teaching Latin and Greek at 13+. I also have experience of teaching English, Maths and Science at KS2.
I have motivated struggling students to enjoy their studies and achieve higher grades, and inspired a greater appreciation for Classics. I taught three of top five highest scoring students in Common Entrance Greek to Harrow this year.
Having taught to such a range of students and continuously adapted my practice to reflect support cognitive science, I am sensitive, responsive and proactive in regards to the individual needs of students and creative in my approach to motivate them and make the material accessible and successful.
I look forward to helping more students live a more enjoyable experience of education.

Experience: I worked for two years in a prep school in Oxford, teaching Latin and Greek at 13+ (year 5-8 Latin and year 7-8 Greek).
I also taught some English, Maths and Science at KS2.
As part of my PGCE, I did a one month placement at a girls` senior school in Reading, teaching from a very different syllabus, expanding my philosophies, strategies and resources. Consciously reflecting on and adapting my teaching based on this experience led to several parents declaring that I had engaged their child in a way they had never been before.
I have also consciously and thoroughly engaged in research into cognitive science and continuing professional development as part of my PGCE.
Upon graduating, I privately tutored an Oxford student taking a fast-tracked exam in iGCSE Greek, in which he scored a 1st.
During my undergraduate, I also volunteered to teach Latin as an after-school club at a local primary school, in an effort to increase exposure to Classics.
