Experience:
My expertise and experience are much greater than you are likely to get with many other private tutors. My background is in Psychology (BSc) and Sociology (MA and PhD) but I`ve taught students from a variety of different social science backgrounds on the following modules (as well as many others) as a full-time Teaching Fellow and Associate Lecturer at the University of York:

Undergraduate Social Research Methods
Introduction to Quantitative Methods
Advanced Quantitative Methods

I convened a 150 student Social Research Methods module for 3 years and set and marked undergraduate and postgraduate coursework and assignments on a variety of different topics relating to research methods, SPSS, and data analysis. I`ve marked thousands of pieces of undergraduate coursework, as well as Masters coursework using advanced data analysis methods, such as Regression, Cluster Analysis and Factor Analysis.

As a supervisor at York I have supervised around 40 undergraduate dissertations, and about 10 Masters dissertations. A good proportion of these students have achieved 1st and starred 1st grades.

I also remain an active researcher within academia. My areas of scholarly interest are health, food, and quantitative and innovative methods. Some of the recent academic articles I have published in peer reviewed journals include:

, P., Tse, M., Zhang, M. and Moore, S., 2017. Using GPS Geo-tagged Social Media Data and Geodemographics to Investigate Social Differences: A Twitter Pilot Study. Sociological Research Online, 22(3), pp.38-56.

Jenkins, L., Cosgrove, J., , P., Kheder, A., Sokhi, D. and Reuber, M., 2016. Neurologists can identify diagnostic linguistic features during routine seizure clinic interactions: results of a one-day teaching intervention. Epilepsy & Behavior, 64, pp.257-261.

Uprichard, E., Nettleton, S. and , P., 2013. ‘Food hates’ over the life course: an analysis of food narratives from the UK Mass Observation Archive. Appetite, 71, pp.137-143.

On top of all this, I`m also very friendly, approachable, and keen to help! Also modest. Get in touch and we can discuss how I can support you in your studies.

Paul helped me with work on my dissertation - he made it very simple, he was easy to communicate with and put work I struggled with in a way that made me understand it a lot more! I recently got my results back and got a 1st in my dissertation! big big thank you!

My daughter received tutoring from Paul whilst in her final year of her psychology undergraduate degree. Paul helped with her dissertation and he was always very supportive, generous with his time and was able to explain things clearly for my daughter to gain a better understanding. Also, he was always very prompt with his feedback. Paul is an excellent tutor and truly cares about bringing the best out of his students. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed working with him and I have no hesitation in recommending him to others.
