I am a friendly recent 6th form lever, with experience in music teaching and performance. I sing in multiple choirs, including the national youth choir of Great Britain, have my ABRSM grade 8 in piano and voice, and am working at a grade 8+ level in recorder. I took my grade 5 theory in 2012 and passed with 98%, and since then have continued to expand my interests and understandings in music theory.

Experience: I have been teaching piano for 4 years to beginner piano students and have recently been increasing my number of theory students. Last Autumn I had 2 students taking grade 5 theory; both passed with high marks, with one student receiving a distinction. I aim to share my love of theory in a way that encourages my students to go and use their knowledge in a way that interests them, either when practising their instruments or just listening to music - I think that when you have an idea of why the music you play or listen to sounds the way it does, it really helps with both your understanding and enjoyment of the music itself.
