Information about Karen
I have been a teacher for 34 years. I currently teach English to ages 11-18. I have spent many years specialising in 16-18 Education, so am very experienced at GCSE and A Level. I have worked as a Senior Examiner for GCSE English Language for 20 years. I have an MA in the Teaching and Practice of Creative Writing and a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing. I have experience of teaching Creative Writing in University and was also Chief Examiner for the A Level in Creative Writing.
My first degree was in English and French, and I have a PGCE in English with Modern Languages, but for the last 14 years I have taught English, with Creative Writing at A Level as an additional activity. I am Deputy Head of English in my current school.
I enjoy teaching at all levels and believe I have excellent skills in supporting learners to gain confidence whether with basic skills in Year 7 or aiming for a top grade at A Level.
Note: I teach Language and Literature at GCSE. I teach Literature only at A Level.

Karen is excellent at identifying and targeting weaknesses whilst enhancing strengths. She is highly effective, motivating and very well organised. She has a lot of experience and provides extensive support to achieve the highest grades. She is also very kind. I strongly and unreservedly recommend her.

At my school we have been told there will be exams later if anyone is not happy with their predicted grades, so let me know if you need me again if Harry decides to try this route.
