Information about Christopher

I am an A-Level History teacher with 2 years` experience.

I firmly believe in the value a good teacher can bring to a learner`s studies. I am committed to ensuring each student leaves both being able to pass any summative assessment required of them whilst also developing an interest in the subject being taught.

Availability: I am available, during term time, on evenings and weekends. During half term and holidays I am available at all times.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: A first year student-centered and reflective A-level History teacher teaching the new AQA 2016 specification, with the capability to also teach the following subjects:- GCSE English (Language/Literature), Sociology, Film & Media and Government & Politics

I was graded outstanding in three out of four of my formal observations in my training year and have received comments in feedback of these observations, and from walkthroughs in my first year of teaching, from tutors such as:-

“Your high level of motivation, high expectations of the learners, infectious enthusiasm, dynamism in the classroom and instinctive ability to be flexible and respond to classroom events are all priceless assets that will serve you well in your career”

“There was a highly positive atmosphere in the classroom you and the learners were on the same wavelength the high level of understanding between you all was plain to see. You found a practical, enjoyable and accurate way of explaining a notion that could have been very dry to teach. This was a key factor in the success of the session.”

“Planning cannot be faulted really. The lesson plan, Scheme of work, group profile and hand-outs were all appropriate, detailed and packed with useful planning information. The learning objectives are well differentiated and become open ended for the more able learners.”

“The excellent engagement and learning demonstrated, was as much a result of the range of interesting and varied array or learning and assessment tasks and deployment of resources as well as your heightened awareness of the needs of all learners in the class and your ability to keep them all on task and to manage learning effectively. This was extremely hard work for you but as it should be and the results are outstanding in many ways.”
