I recently graduated from Cambridge University, with first class degrees in Education with English Literature and Business Management. I am now based in London studying Law.

I am a patient, enthusiastic and friendly tutor, with many years of teaching experience and a degree in Education. As a tutor, I always plan lessons afresh, to ensure that they suit the specific needs and learning styles of the student.

My approach is simply to listen carefully to students and their parents, to find out how I can be most helpful and effective as a tutor. I provide informal and written feedback to parents regularly, so that students are fully supported as they progress.

Availability: I am available for 1 or 2 hour sessions on Weekdays and Weekends.

Experience: • English Language & Literature:
I offer tuition for coursework and exam preparation for all exam boards and all literature exam material. I have a special passion for teaching poetry and fiction.

• Science and Maths:
I achieved A*s in Maths and Physics A Levels (and an A in Biology AS Level, when the A* was not available), with several modules awarded 100%.
I have experience teaching both Maths and Science, and offer tuition from KS2 to A Levels for all exam boards. (11+/KS3/GCSE/A level)

• English as a second language:
I spent the last 3 summers teaching English as a second language to children aged 8-18 from Asia and Europe. I offer general and targeted help for a wide range of abilities in:
- Written and spoken English
- Conversation and accent coaching
- General confidence with using the English language

• 11+ tuition:
I grew up in Southend, where there are 4 large grammar schools in a small town. I understand how fiercely competitive selective entry can be, and how to help support students with this. I offer tuition for all disciplines for the 11+.

• Exam and Revision Techniques:
I offer special, targeted tutoring sessions focused on exam preparation, revision techniques, and methods for overcoming anxiety.
The experience of taking exams can be challenging for many students, and these sessions use material from my Education degree, and personal experience, to support students to revise effectively and perform well in exams. These sessions can also form part of tuition for specific subjects.

• Oxbridge Applications:
I have two years experience in Oxbridge applications assistance, including supporting students from the UK and abroad with personal statements, pre-reading guidance and interview practice.
I offer support for English, Education, Management and ‘general’ Oxbridge interviews.
