My approach to tutoring is efficient, succinct but also enjoyable. Dealing with topics such as poetry and Shakespeare can be very frustrating and so I aim to make these works as approachable as possible. As the student gains more confidence I will push them further, ensuring that they are never left in limbo where their ability and knowledge does not advance.
Having attained the highest grades at all academic stages, including a Masters degree from The University of Oxford, and many years of tutoring experience, I have a wealth of knowledge to share that can help any student achieve their targets.
I am extremely familiar with every text and subject on each syllabus, and have taught them for several years at different levels. This includes KS3, the current 1-9 GCSEs, A-level and Degree Level.
My first lesson is a free 30-45 minute `get to know you session`, where I will assess your child`s needs, introduce myself and my teaching style before finally deciding the best direction to take.
The `BUDDY` system:
During my time as a tutor I have found that students respond particularly well to having a second, or even third, student with them during lessons. The quality of tuition does not differ in a 1 to 3 scenario, and produces a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment. I charge £15 for every additional student, which reduces the price per head. For example, a typical GCSE lesson with one student is £35, however with the `buddy` system it is £50 or £25 per child, a saving of £10. So if you`re interested in this, bring a friend along!
My cancellation policy is as follows:
Within 24 hours I charge the full rate. Ideally we can rearrange so your child does not lose out.
NOTE: Due to the high demand for after school lessons and the difficulty of traffic midweek, I charge £5 less than the advertised price for those students with lessons on weekends.
Thank you for looking at this page and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Availability: During Holidays my availability is flexible so please contact me with ideal hours.
At the moment my term time hours are limited to Wednesdays at 7:30, Thursdays at 4 or Sundays at 11:15. However, I am now taking advanced bookings for the summer/new school year.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: As well my extensive academic experience at the highest possible level, I have spent 6 years tutoring GCSEs and A-levels to all manner of students, each with different requirements (including special educational needs such as dyslexia). In turn I have helped all of my students meet their predicted grade and very often surpass it.

review(s) for Jordan.
Jordan is a fantastic tutor, he has assisted my daughter in many ways. Not just subject matter but also revision techniques. Hes superb chap, we are really lucky to have found him.
Jordan has a great approach to tutoring and is knowledgeable in his subject. Very happy with the teaching provided
Brilliant & friendly tutor
Jordan is an excellent tutor. He made each lesson easy to understand and interesting.
After 2 weeks my daughter feels she has a better understanding. Thank you
Jordan has been tutoring our son in preparation for his GCSE English. I have to say that Jordan has proved to be outstanding in every way for our son, who was at first sceptical at the prospect of having a tutor. Nine months on and our son has flourished as a student and embraced all that Jordan has taught him, to such an extent that he is now considering studying A level English which we never thought wed hear! Jordan is a young, enthusiastic teacher, who knows exactly how to engage his students. He is very well organised, structured and quickly grasps the individual needs of his students. His timekeeping is impeccable and always gives ample notice if a lesson needs to be rearranged. We will await the results in August, but we already know Jordan has helped grow our sons confidence in the subject, which is a huge step towards a great result and worth every penny spent! Thank you!
Jordan with his wide knowledge on film as well as essay techniques as well and reading academic books and articles has made a positive and effective change in the way I approach my University studies for my course Film and Theatre. I highly recommend him as not only is he helpful but also very friendly and understanding.
We haven`t been using Jordan for long but already my son is feeling much more confident about his English Literature GCSE. Jordan is always punctual and polite and is very organised in his approach to tutoring. I would highly recommend him.
