Hi there,
My name is Katie and I`m from Quebec, Canada but have called London home for the last 5 years. I hold a degree in English Literature and Drama and in 2019 I obtained my Masters degree in Fine Arts (with distinction) from the University of Essex.
My approach to teaching is through an emphasis on positive reinforcement during each and every session. I pride myself on knowing how to boost a student`s morale and confidence on occasions where their level of motivation and confidence may have dropped. I really believe it`s important for a tutor to have several strategies in place to keep the student engaged and interested in the material so they can experience the sense of achievement that comes when they rise to the challenge and surpass themselves.

I am a native speaker of both English and French and have primarily worked as an actress, translator and English tutor in Canada and London.

I would describe myself as outgoing, patient and always keen for a laugh! :-)

Experience: My tutoring experience is primarily the 11+ entrance exams; for English comprehension & creative writing for Consortiums and schools such as St Paul`s Girls, North London Academy, City of London.

My prior experience with children also includes teaching English to francophone kids at a summer camp in Canada, being an afterschool homework aid for kids aged 8-10 and working as a children`s party entertainer.
