Information about Jemma
Hi, my name is Jemma and I am a graduate currently studying in my 2nd year at Warwick Medical School, having gained a first class honours degree in BSc Human Physiology from the University of Portsmouth.
I am an energetic and positive person and I believe that by improving a child`s confidence, through worked examples and easy-to-remember techniques, they have the ability to achieve the best results possible.
Availability: Most weekday evenings, some weekends.
Can be flexible.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I have 8 years experience of tutoring children aged 6-16 in Maths, Biology and Science as well as the 11 plus and UKCAT entrance exams. I prepare worksheets and practice questions to allow for steady progress and can prepare homework if you would like. I can adapt to each individuals` learning style, encouraging many different revision techniques to try and get the most from the sessions as possible.
In addition to tutoring, I teach weekly seminars at the medical school to support the first year students in their learning on this course. Students can often feel stressed and tense, so reassurance and confidence building is a big part of my skill-set.
I also teach first aid programmes in secondary schools in Coventry as part of a small team of volunteers with the charity `StreetDoctors`.
