I am a friendly, approachable Cambridge graduate originally from Northumberland. I have always loved education, and enjoy helping others not only to understand a topic, but to delight in it. I enjoy meeting new people, and finding the interesting side of anything. I offer tutoring in English up to undergraduate degree level.

Availability: I am most available for tutoring work on weekday evenings and all-day Saturday and Sunday. There will be some daytime weekday availability, but it varies week to week, so simply ask.

Experience: During my own academic career, I moved from all A*s at GCSE and A-Level to an undergraduate degree in English at the University of Cambridge, and then onto a Masters degree in Performance at Mountview, one of the UK`s top drama schools. I have worked at the London School of Tuition as an educational consultant, and have classroom experience.

Over the past several years, in my tutoring career, I have helped students from ages 7 to 21, providing assistance in every area of academic life: from the eleven-plus and common entrance exams to A-levels, the IB and undergraduate dissertations, via competitive debating and public speaking.

One-on-one tutoring is a blessing in its flexibility, and the opportunity it affords to build up a student`s confidence in a subject, away from the hothouse of school. I love connecting with each student to find out how they learn best, in order to help them achieve and surpass their goals — and hopefully have some fun along the way!

Over the past year, my most recent students include eleven-plus candidates getting into their first choice schools, middle school children discovering a newfound confidence with written and spoken texts, and GCSE and A-level students improving by two to four grades.
