Information about Stephen
I like my lessons to be fun and for children to be aware of what it is we are doing and how it is going to help them.
I can offer tutoring in Maths and English (reading and/or writing).
My main qualities as a tutor are that I`m patient and calm and I look forward to helping lots of children to improve and to gain confidence.
I don`t insist on parents signing up for ten or twenty classes or anything like that. For me, it`s about doing the first session and seeing if it`s going to be right for your child and we can take it week by week from that point onwards.
I have an eight year old daughter who is my entire world. She often gives me tips about which Disney characters or members of The Vamps or Little Mix I should theme my lessons around to make them appealing to children!
In my spare time I like to keep fit. I`ve run six marathons for charity. They`re not getting any easier as I get further on into my thirties but I love the challenge and I`m also proud to have raised money for several charities close to my heart.
Availability: I am available on week nights.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I`ve been a teacher for fifteen years and I absolutely love it!
I did my Newly Qualified Teacher year on the Beechwood in a Year 4 class and then taught in Glasgow for four years.
Since coming back to Wirral in 2006 I have been teaching at the school I went to as a boy, which is an honour and a privilege.
I have been subject leader for English and for Computing and have been a Senior Manager for eight years.
I`ve got experience across all of the year groups and I am in Year 2 at the moment.
Feedback For Stephen (1)
My son has special needs that Stephen had adhered to amazingly , my son after just 3 sessions is being praised at school for a noticeable improvement in his school work. I couldn`t have asked for a more patient and understanding person with a great knowledge of different teaching methods to teach my son! Thank you Stephen
