I am a fully qualified teacher and experienced personal tutor, with a strong record of success at all levels, from primary to GCSE. Having a strong educational background (LLB, MSc, PGCE), has enabled me to successfully help students achieve better grades and reach their full potential in Maths and English.
My approach to tutoring is lively and friendly, and focuses on addressing individual problems and achieving personal goals. All children have a pre-assessment and regular tests are taken to assess progress and developmental areas. I work closely with parents and weekly feedback is given as a priority. I strongly believe that all children can succeed and I am a proactive and committed teacher, who fully engages the learner and makes learning accessible to all.
A distinctive aspect of my work is the high quality, individually tailored materials that I produce. I plan each lesson only after the last, as this enables me to identify how to help students move forward. I have a wide range of materials and I am constantly creating and discovering more.

Currently I have places available for group sessions- there are no more than 6 students per group so places are limited. (Only year 3, year 4 and year 5 places available).

Experience: I have worked as a personal tutor for over 10 years (offering both group and individual lessons), and have extensive experience in the following:
-preparing for exams (SATs, 11+, independent school entrance);
-to improve the level of schoolwork generally (for example, in English, focusing on writing, comprehension and vocabulary; in Maths focusing on mental strategies, mastery of mathematical skills and application -solving problems).
I am also employed as a full-time teacher in a mainstream school, so I am up-to-date with changes in education.
I have a current DBS certificate.
