Experience: Hello, Im Incia, and I am a CELTA-qualified English language teacher with a degree in Business and Management from the University of Bradford.
I am a UK-qualified teacher with QTLS status and a subject specialism in ESOLEnglish for Speakers and of Other Languages. I live in Slough with my family.
I am a native English speaker with over 25 years of experience working in education. I specialise in ESOL and have many years of experience teaching with the WEA, a UK-based provider of accredited ESOL courses, where I have supported learners from Entry Level 1 through to GCSE and A-Level success, helping them become confident and proficient in English.
I have taught in a range of community centres across the UK, as well as in private schools both in the UK and internationally. This has given me strong experience working with learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Over time, I progressed into regular cover teaching positions across Year 1 to Year 6, confidently leading full classes, delivering lessons across the curriculum, and assessing pupil progress through marking and feedback. This extensive classroom experience has enabled me to quickly identify learning gaps and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual learners.
Alongside my school-based roles, I have supported students through 11+ preparation, delivering targeted tuition in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. My approach combines clear, step-by-step explanations with a strong focus on building confidence and exam technique, ensuring students are both capable and resilient under timed conditions.
In Maths, I teach core primary topics including arithmetic, fractions, percentages, ratio, problem-solving, and mental maths strategies, ensuring students develop both accuracy and confidence. I provide structured lessons alongside targeted practice papers, helping students build speed, technique, and familiarity with exam-style questions.
Throughout my career, I have also taken periods to further develop my professional skills, including completing formal teaching qualifications and refining my subject knowledge in key areas such as English language development and reasoning skills. These periods have strengthened my ability to deliver high-quality, structured tuition aligned with current educational standards.
My teaching is highly learner-centred. I plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons tailored to each students individual needs, helping you build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as preparing for exams or real-life communication.
Overall, I deliver a structured, supportive, and exam-focused approach, ensuring students are fully prepared across all elements of the 11+ and primary curriculum.
As someone born and brought up in the UK, I also speak Gujarati, Urdu, and Punjabi, which helps me better understand and support multilingual learners.
