I am a fifth year UCL medical student with a first class intercalated degree in Genetics. Besides my degree, I have also worked for a year as a Chemistry Technician in a high school in Cardiff and have done a number of research projects in genetics, microbiology and biochemical engineering.
As I hope to continue teaching when I qualify in 2015, I am extremely motivated when it comes to tutoring. I am organised and punctual, and teach in a friendly and encouraging manner. I am happy to commute but can also tutor at my flat.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have informal experience of teaching Biology at A-level, and all three sciences at GCSE level. Furthermore, as a Chemistry Technician, I was heavily involved in planning lessons and practical activities for large classes of up to thirty-five students. As a result, I have a great deal of experience of GCSE and A-level Chemistry for the full range of academic abilities. Contact this Tutor
More recently, during a research project I was in charge of developing an educational website to explain and illustrate scientific concepts. I developed skills in illustration, as well as communicating information with a logical and simple approach. I intend to incorporate these skills, particularly illustration, into my tutoring.
Finally, as a medical student I have been trained to teach creatively and have used these skills to teach groups of students in my year.
