I am a mom to three boys, well, they are guys now, doing Final year Medicine, Aerospace Engineering ( on course for a 1st class honours) both in Russell Group universities and my youngest doing his A levels at Dr Challoners, Amersham. I graduated in Scotland with an MBA with distinction and had a career in banking. I switched to tutoring when I realised that my children and many others aren’t having the teaching that I had back in Singapore. I am glad to have done so, as it has been so fulfilling and rewarding to have touched young people’s lives in a positive way.

Availability: At the moment, I am tutoring Maths, all levels and IGCSE. I am able to take on students undertaking the 11+ for Maths. I have availability to teach at my home on Mondays and Wednesdays. I also conduct small group lessons.
For teaching at student’s homes, currently I have availability in Wembley and Harrow, Sunday afternoon.

Science GCSE, IGCSE and A Level Biology, Physics and Chemistry are covered by my sons who excel in them. They are coaching students right now for A levels exams coming up in May but there is a waiting list for August 2019 -2020 academic year.

Experience: I have about 16 years of great moments in helping students - first, to enjoy what they are learning and secondly, how to get the grades. I first started teaching my own boys since they were small, and it was all fun time as I believe that learning must be joyful. We understand and retain knowledge much better when we enjoy learning. The results my boys had throughout their schooling years were down to how they applied the concept of ‘Study with joy and an inquisitive mind’. As with my students, we enjoy going beyond the subject to find out more. For me as a tutor, I am here to guide the students, encourage them to give tougher questions or topics a go, teach them when they find certain ideas difficult and most important of all, is to build confidence in the students. My past students know how I have ‘mentored’ them and they have kept in touch with me, wishing for those days again ! I am so proud of them as they have achieved what they want to do and many are either in universities or have graduated with law degrees, aeronautics, pharmacy and English Lit, just to name a few. My own children also bear testimony to my way of supporting them through school.
I also homeschooled my youngest for a while and it was a great experience being his mom and tutor. As usual, although we had a timetable, we had great fun.
I tutor children in Maths for the 11+ and they are in QE, City of London, Holland Park, St Helens and St Paul’s and Watford and other grammar schools. These children put in so much effort apart from me guiding them, that they truly deserve the success!
