Hi I`m Sophie, a dedicated tutor currently pursuing my final year in BA Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. With a passion for teaching and extensive online tutoring experience, I specialise in guiding students of various ages and abilities across a broad spectrum of subjects.

I centre my teaching around fostering a supportive and conducive learning environment. I prioritise understanding the student`s strengths and areas needing improvement, ensuring a targeted and effective approach to teaching. Experience: I am currently tutoring students in A-Level Government and Politics. I have aided these students in making significant progress in essay writing and understanding specific concepts. Given my completion of my A-Levels and GCSEs within the past five years, I am familiar with changes to exam board syllabuses and formats of exam questions for the new curriculum and have been able to cater to the new syllabus accordingly. My students have therefore been able to effectively prepare for exams and achieved notable success.

Understanding that each child has a unique learning style, I prioritise tailoring my teaching methods to suit their individual preferences. My extensive experience as a part-time children`s teacher for two years at a Sunday school has equipped me with the ability to effectively communicate complex information in a clear and accessible manner, catering to various age groups and learning styles. I worked both in-person and online throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, creating lesson plans and employing a range of entertaining and engaging approaches to create interactive sessions and tailored teaching methods to enhance understanding and academic performance.

Furthermore, my involvement in various summer programmes and camps, engaging with children aged 5 to 18, has provided me with valuable insights into motivating and interacting with young learners. Recognising the impact on a child`s confidence when facing challenges in an learning environment alongside their peers, I aim to motivate and engage students by employing interactive and stimulating approaches, ensuring they leave each session with increased knowledge and confidence in the subject.

I offer tutoring services in A-Level History, Government and Politics and Sociology as well as GCSE level essay-writing subjects. My educational background includes successful completion of A-Levels in History, Government and Politics, and Sociology, achieving stellar grades of A*AA. Furthermore, I`ve completed International GCSEs in English Language, English Literature Mathematics, Sciences, French, History, Design and Technology and Religious Studies securing grades within the A-B equivalent range.
