Experienced teacher and tutor in early years, primary, and KS3 with a passion for children’s minds and how we all learn. Specialising in SATs, entrance exams 11+, Maths, English and the arts. I have also successfully mentored young adults post 18 into work, university and life skills, especially those with additional needs. I seek to nurture the creative spark and a love of learning in every child and young person. It is my aim to make myself redundant, by teaching my students to become self directed learners and to know what to do when they don`t know what to do. Currently training for the national qualification as a SENDCO with University College London, I believe in keeping my training up to date. I also mentor teachers in training and train qualified teachers in adaptive teaching. Relationships lie at the heart of all learning, so I always seek to listen, support and meet individual learning needs. Building confidence, knowledge and skills I can help you and your child.

Experience: Experience teaching in mainstream primary schools from EYFS -Y6 as well as in primary and secondary pupil referral units, as well as 1:1 tutoring learners aged 0-adult. Degree in History from University of Oxford. PGCE with QTS Bath Spa University. Recently completed a postgraduate certificate course in Maths Education for KS3-4 and currently undertaking the national qualification in SEND with UCL. Great track record and experience in getting children through SATS and school entrance exams at y6. Support for learners needing extra boost to gain confidence and really promote deep understanding. Experienced in identifying gaps and supporting learners to make rapid progress in confidence and understanding in core subjects. To reignite the spark and support children in becoming self-directed learners. Experience and trained in working with hard to reach learners and their families, including learners with complex additional needs, and SEMHS. Keen musician - fiddle player and member of the cast band of fiddlers for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
