Information about Chloe

I have supported pupils ranging in age from 4 to 15, as a tutor and mentor for over 2 years, covering Early Learning Foundation Stage, 6+, 7+, 8+, 11+, 13+ and GCSE`s. I teach Maths, English, Non Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Interview Preparation for 6+, 7+, 8+, 11+, 13+, and English and History at GCSE level. I also have experience working as an Extracurricular Leadership Tutor and Mentor with students looking to enter university`s in the UK. Prior to tutoring, having worked as an English Au Pair and Nursery Nurse Assistant, I learnt the value of building a relationship with a student and how the quality of that relationship can determine how eager they are to learn.

I specialise in working with students on a 1-on-1 basis, allowing us to tackle individual areas of difficulty at a pace appropriate to the student – something that can be difficult to receive in the standard school environment. My approach is focused on creating engaging lessons, tailoring my teaching approach to each individual student (once having gauged how they learn best) and fostering a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of a topic.

Willing to travel: 1 miles

Experience: I have approximately 8,000 hours of teaching experience. I have over 2 years experience helping students improve their English for KS1, KS2 and KS3, teaching English to both UK and overseas clients. Additional experience includes teaching English literature lessons as part of the Spring Festival in Shanghai, teaching a virtual class of 100 students and in person in group settings, teaching two pupils simultaneously in a classroom, as well as hosting an English creative lesson as part of the Spring Festival in Shanghai. Additionally I tutored English KS1, KS2 and KS3 free trial classes for Holland Park Education for 8 months.

For 7+ and 8+ I have taught English, Maths and Reasoning exam entrance for St Paul’s, Westminster, Bute House, Latymer Prep, City of London School for Girl’s, Thomas’ Battersea and Newton Prep School entrance (a student of mine successfully entered St Pauls at 7+). I have also worked abroad on a 7+ placement for a month as a part of my experience.

For 11+ I have taught Pre Tests (including ISEB, GL and CEM), English, Maths and Reasoning for Harrodian, Latymer Upper, Wellington, Bellmont Mill Hill, Queens College, Stroud School, Christ’s College Hospital, St Swithun’s, Kew House School and Maida Vale school entrance (students have successfully entered Latymer Upper, Queens College, Belmont, Queens Gate, St James, Kew House and Maida Vale).

For GCSE I have taught English and History at GCSE’s level and have experience with AQA, OCR and Edexcel for the Leys School and Hills Road Sixth Form College.

I take on board lesson preparation and professionalism, practising the students exam technique, finding gaps in knowledge, understanding the curriculum, looking at different question types and helping the student find a greater enthusiasm and confidence in their subject. Even helping them develop a lifelong love of learning.

I have had training in both NVR and VR, working with younger students, 7+ and 8+ exam preparation, as well as Interview Preparation training and have experience teaching in a group setting teaching two pupils at a time at this age in a classroom, teaching a group of a hundred students virtually, as well as hosting an English creative lesson as part of the Spring Festival in Shanghai.
