I am a passionate, committed primary school teacher with over 4 years of teaching experience, who loves working with children and making a difference to their lives by supporting their development. I am experienced in teaching all subjects in the UK National Curriculum at levels KS1 and KS2, including preparing Year 6 students for their SATs. I am also experienced in tutoring students for the 11+ examination.

I am a University Graduate with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and I also studied at the Nottingham Girls` High School.

I am able to tutor both online and at home (depending on student location).

Availability: Weekdays - after school and evenings.
Weekends - morning only.

Experience: I have a lot of experience teaching in KS1 and KS2 – all subjects, SATs and 11+ preparation. I predominantly focus on Maths and English, particularly for the Year 6 SATs. I have worked with children from all backgrounds and have also supported parents in how to help their children at home. I have also helped many students in gaining confidence and a clearer understanding of the subjects being taught.

I believe in a personalised learning approach, tailoring all my lessons to each student’s unique needs and learning styles. I like to begin with a brief recap and summary from the previous session to consolidate learning, followed by an explanation and input of the new concepts for the current lesson. My lessons involve practical and interactive activities in a relaxed environment to foster a love for learning. Alongside this, I also work through past exam questions (Year 6 SATS and 11+) so we can identify any gaps and focus more on these areas to build up confidence. One of my aims is to enhance my students` academic skills and teach them with a technique that suits them best. I have experience in tutoring a student in preparation for the 11+ exam and as a result, they successfully passed and secured a place in all the grammar schools they had applied for.

I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their academic goals as I strongly believe that every child should have the opportunity to succeed and reach their own potential.
