Internal Locus of Control:

-Belief that you can start and run a task -Need to acquire vision and be able to plan that vision -Future is in their control and external forces have little influence -Entrepreneurs have a need to BELIEVE, therefore have Motivation to take steps needed to achieve the goal of setting up and running a business

High Energy Level:

-Startups require great effort -They need persistance and hard work despite obstacles -Most work 60 hours or more -Only 23% work fewer than 50 hours

Need to Achieve:

-Entrepreneurs are motivated and pick situations where success is likely -These people set own goals which are 'Moderately Difficult' -Easy goals=No Challenge Unrealistic goals=No challenge -Require feedback to obtain better knowledge for next goal

Self confidence:

-Entrepreneurs must be decisive -Need confidence about ability -Feel sure in ability to win customers -Ability to handle business growth -General feeling of confidence -Feel they can achieve anything

Awareness of Passing Time:

-Entrepreneurs are usually Impatient -Have a sense of Urgency -Want things to Progress -Opportunisitc -They seize the moment

Tolerance for Ambiguity:

-Need to have clear structure perfect information -Untroubled by Disorder especially during startups e.g. 90% of all new product launches fail -Entrepreneurs make decisions without clear understanding of options or certainty
