Selecting text using the click and drag technique can be frustrating; you select too much, not enough or it takes too long.

To select a single word in the document place the mouse cursor over the word and double click the left mouse button.

To select the whole paragraph place the mouse cursor anywhere on the paragraph and click the left mouse button three times. Alternatively you can place the mouse cursor over the left hand margin (the empty area at the side of the page) and click the left mouse button twice.

To select a line of text place the mouse cursor in the left hand margin and click the left mouse button once.

To select the whole document place the mouse cursor in the left hand margin and click the left mouse button three times or alternatively hold the CTRL button on the keyboard and, keeping it pressed, also press the A key once.
