I am a strong advocate of the relationship between the biological and the cultural factors that influence human development from childhood through to adult life. There is the belief that the biological factors are relevant when individuals need the potential capacity to develop, which is limited at birth which increases with age following increased brain development, hence developing greater capacity.
The environment is important when individuals are given the opportunities to develop their potential, which depends on their enriched surroundings. I feel that to a large extent the environment is important in development and behaviour. We are all influenced by individuals and in society as a whole both covertly and overtly, with conformity and social influence being a potent factor
Our thought processes in cognitive psychology relates to our surroundings and to our biological make up that enables us to reason and understand the cultural norms that exist in society which can vary according to the time, the place and in society overall, What is acceptable at one time and location can vary considerably in relation to dress sense and in general behaviour.
