Learning a new language can feel like a huge obstacle. So here a few things to give you your best chances:

- Children start learning their mother language in the womb, by listening, then after birth they spend an other year listening to their parents talking to them and that`s when they progressively start to determine what are sentences as a whole and words individually. Around 1 year old they start making their first words and sentences and can learn up to 50 new words a day (I know, sounds a lot, but real). However it will take them years (up to adulthood) to master their own language.

- What about you? to make the process of learning a new language easier, you should try to get as close as possible from the same process you went through as a baby. Your brain already knows from the past how to learn a language this way.

- How? If you have the chance, find easy audio in your learning language and listen to them repetitively even without trying to understand it all (you can find resources such as flash cards online, and on your mobile/tablet apps). Then use online resources such as Busuu.com. This will teach you about 20 words at a time and matching sentences in a very progressive, interactive and fun way, all grouped by subject. Then practice your few words everyday throughout the day when you see them. Don`t learn too fast (1 max 2 lesson a week), otherwise it is counter-productive. Review your words a few minutes before sleep. Finally should you have the chance, go in the country to practice your new skills. Otherwise on busuu.com you have the opportunity to chat with native to practice your written skills at least.

- If you learn a language such as french, german or spanish make a point into learning the gender of each word along with the word as a whole.

- Remember that: the lack of practice is the worst enemy of learning a new language so give yourself plenty of opportunity. Your brain works in a special way that means you have to forget 3 times before you can efficiently remember something so don`t get annoyed, just take "forgetting" as part of the learning process. Don`t neglect the power of late night learning.

Here, now you should have the necessary tips to get on the right foot with your learning. Good luck
