Assessor`s Feedback

Assessment strengths/general comments: Activity 1 -W/T P1, W/T M1, (w/t as this is also covered in activity 2,) Well done, you have made good progress with your research and analysis of your skills required for playing the role of Oberon and provided evidence towards the grading for Pass 1 Merit 1 and Distinction1 for Outcome 1. I know from the notes in your portfolio and in discussion during rehearsals that you have understood the techniques of classical theatre roles and the performance demands required in presenting the role of Fairy 1 and Snug in A Midsummer Night`s Dream. You have also understood the style and have reacted imaginatively. You have written about the differences in presenting Shakespearian roles in contrast to Contemporary theatre although a couple of mistakes have been made. See below a list of Targets to help you achieve evidence for higher grades: Activity 2 P2, M2 w/t D2 You have started to keep a log book but this needs to be written after every rehearsal and show your development in some detail You haven`t written a review of the film of A Midsummer Night`s Dream You have created your own ideas independently and have developed the movement and speech imaginatively. Activity 3 W/T P3, M3,D3 P4 and M4 ,D4 You have developed an imaginative portrayal of the fairy and used good vocal and movement skills and have communicated the mischievious qualities of the character. You performed very professionally in front of a very difficult audience.

Subject Specific Targets - To improve/upgrade this assignment you need to: Target 1 -Activity 1 - w/t P1, , w/tM1 w/t D1: . From this task you will be collecting evidence towards D1,D2. However, remember that you cannot achieve fullyD1 until you have performed the character in Doctor Faustus which will then become your next target to achieve and this should be achievable in your preparation for the Classical Performance.

Target 2 - Activity 2 - P2, M2,w/TD2 To fully achieve D2 use examples and detailed and analytical comments from your rehearsals to describe how you developed your performance. This means that you will need to provide evidence from your rehearsals and group discussions of how you communicate effectively with other members of the cast and the audience using personal skills and verbal skills. You will need to be able to identify communication difficulties and show how you responded. You also need to review scenes from the film of A Midsummer Night`s Dream. Target 3- Activity 3 w/T P2.P3,P4 M2,M3,M4 You need to produce a detailed record of rehearsals and make detailed comments about how you have responded to the advice of the tutor.to gain D2,D3,D4
