ASSISTED LIVING

People spend their lifetime in making a home and decorating it, making it filled with memories and getting equipped with all the modern amenities, comfort and appearance. Home is a place where one can live in ease and can have personal freedom. It doesn't make any difference whether we are living in our home or in a rented apartment. None of us want to get to the point in life when we can`t take care of ourselves and our family members-perhaps we are dependent. Relations are very unpredictable because as a person gets older, people tries to avoid them and begin dropping by to check on them to see if any sort of help is needed. Maybe a medical emergency can worry loved ones but not to mention the person in general. The at-risk family member is accustomed to freedom; the caregiver family member has a life of his or her own that needs attention because in this age of competition everyone is trying to make both ends meet. The answer can be assisted living. Assisted living facilities are useful for people who need a little help in their basic necessities and household chores like dressing, eating, bathing and in many cases using the bathroom also. Some assisted living facilities are part of retirement communities whereas, others are near nursing homes, so a person can move easily if needs change. The people who are considered as a burden by their families can enjoy their freedom and can live on their own, but definitely their loneliness leads them to emotional distress because At every stage of life, our relationships and families present us with both joys and challenges and living around-the-clock with the families make the people dependent on them. Moving to assisted living communities can be a difficult decision for both the family and the elderly person but living there can be safer and they can have more friends because the older people are fragile and living in a community can serve as a safety net. They can make friends and socializing with them can bring quality of life to them, moreover, all these healthy activities can make them busy and perhaps they are in safer hands because as the person gets older the doctors' visits becomes frequent because they are always at some sort of medical risk and the doctors are always present there or someone is always there to take them to the hospital. Assisted living costs less than nursing home care. It is fairly expensive. The biggest advantage of an assisted living is the elimination of household chores because for ailing elderly person maintaining a house is a big trouble. Well this cannot be said that everything in Assisted Living is great, there are some cons also the biggest one is the financial burden which can be easy for some of them to handle but most of them cannot take this burden. But if affordability is not a problem then it is strongly advisable to move in the Assisted living community because it lowers the stress and give you quality living.
