Is Acting lying?

A lot of people assume that Acting is as simple as getting up and lying to the audience. The simple answer to that is that it is quite simply not true. Acting is actual re - Acting. Reacting to the contents of a scene in a play or film etc. Its about getting to know your character and learning about them in so much detail that you know exactly how they would react in certain situations.

Acting is easy to get in to?

For some people it may be easy through luck... the truth is that the Acting industry is probably one of the toughest industries to get into. Most of the time Actors spend their time unemployed and working a normal 9-5 job and even these days they are hard to get. My one piece of advice would be that if you are in the Acting game for the fame and fortune then you may aswel quit now. Its hard and tough and you need to have extremely thick skin.

What goes into creating a character?

First of all a name is given to a character. The actors job is to give that character a background. Creating a character profile usually helps. Being imaginative and creative is always the key to creating a good character. Maybe even writing a diary of one day in the life of that character can help you establish the characters social status etc.
