You know, they wouldn`t need to put rubbers on the end of pencils if noone made any mistakes. Maybe even pencils would not exist since you could perhaps write in a permanent ink if it was perfect every time. The truth of the matter though, is we all make mistakes and every person you admire who works with ease, perfection and grace - will probably be the person who made the most mistakes.

Firstly you have to remember nothing in life is sent to break you, only to tease and test your ability to peer into the fabric of who you are; to springboard you to a higher level. Exams are no different, here is my definitive guide to doing well in Exams or tests:

1. Don`t sacrifice your health, you are not a prisoner of war so do all the things you still enjoy, eat well, drink plenty of water to ensure your brain stays as healthy as possible and your spirits are kept high. This is very important as nothing is more important than your health!

2. Plan - Plan in a schedule, get organised and plan some more. If you have 2,3,4 weeks before an exam plan accordingly. You should ideally plan in sessions of roughly 30-45 minutes! After this your brain starts switching off! Plan in 3-5 sessions a day and you should be adequately prepared. Watch your favourite programs, go to the cinema and eat your favourite foods planning your routine around your lifestyle.

3. Do it backwards! It is easy to go over the same material, so maybe start at the end of a module and work backwards, mixing up your plan to include everything. Dont throw away what you find easy or pick up well, include this as well so you dont forget anything at the end! You can concentrate on one subject a day, but most effectively mix it up and keep it fun and fresh.

4. Add Colour to your life! - Colourful pens and diagrams will keep your brain awash with key principles, equations and key facts. Yes even you boys! Your brain is going to be far more excited to revise a colourful page then just a sea of black ink on a dull sheet.

5. Revise Past Papers! See what type of questions keep coming up but dont simply revise the answer you will only pass 50% of examinations. If you understand the question and the answer well you will pass 100% of them, as there could always be a new novel type of question on your exam.

6. Plan some more! I cant stress this enough! Also...

7. Plan!

8. Relax before your exam, certainly don`t listen to the bish bosch everyone else is pouring in your ear on the day from your fellow examinees. You will hear, I haven`t revised and I usually get 100%, I havent done anything on that part and you don`t need to, and also a whole host of hints, tips, and blahhhhhhhhhh. Concentrate on YOUR exam from YOUR learning. There are probably some really great people you take your exam with who are telling you some good things but learning new material at the last minute will increase the nerves and have you feeling a little bit drowned.. You are a superstar! You can do it by yourself!

9. When you are in the exam you are going to feel like you are coming round from a coma after that first clock ticking sound and someone from the front saying, "you may start!". Take a moment to gather your thoughts, bring your heart rate down and relax for a bit, after reading the instructions carefully gather your thoughts, peruse through the exam and snipe out questions you know the answer to. Don`t worry about the ones you are unsure of, as you complete more of the exam and become calmer, you will be able to focus on these later and answer them well.

10. Did I mention planning? Plan your time through the exam, relax and try to enjoy the final battle! This is your time to swathe on to the battlefield, battle ready and pumped up with knowledge to lead the final assault on your subject. Besiege the grades you want, march to victory and remember... afterwards the victory celebrations begin.
