Prime numbers are special numbers greater than 1 that have exactly two factors: themselves and 1. In other words, a prime number cannot be evenly divided by any other number except for these two. For example:

  • 19 is a prime number because it can only be divided by 1 and 19.
  • 9 is not a prime number because it can be divided by 3 as well as 1 and 9.
  • Here are some prime numbers below 20:

  • 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19
  • Interestingly, the number 1 is ¬ considered a prime number because it only has one factor (itself) 1. Prime numbers play a crucial role in mathematics and have fascinating properties. They are essential in fields like cryptography, number theory, and computer science.

If you’d like to explore more prime numbers, there are infinitely many of them, and they continue to unfold as we delve deeper into the world of mathematics!
