Why Write?

It is commonplace that most people run away from writing. Other people have embraced the idea that writing is very difficult and meant for just a few people. They would rather prefer to pay someone to carry out their writing tasks. But the truth is, everyone writes. Everybody is a writer. Just like it is embedded in everyone, the ability to speak, so is writing.

Creative writing is a form of writing that is literary in nature. It employs literary techniques and devices to bring out its beauty. But what makes this form of writing more interesting is the fact that it is based on the writer`s imaginations. That means that with creative writing, you have to liberty to express your thoughts, emotions and perspectives to other people without being criticised.

This form of writing is different from the academic writings such as essay, letters, articles, etcetera. It comes in the form of prose, poetry or drama. It can be fiction or non-fiction. It can also be faction (i.e a combination of fiction and facts).

However, if writing is this simple, why do people run away from it? The novels we read, the stories we tell, the experiences we have these all are beautiful forms of art. And creative writing gives life to them. As long as you are alive and can think, one thing is sure: you can write.
