Teenagers need more sleep than adults due the the period of growth that they are in. They are physically, mentally and emotionally growing at this important time in their lives. Research by Cardiff University and King’s College London has found 72% of children have at least one portable media device in their sleep environment, impacting on the duration and quality of sleep. Not enough sleep can sometimes lead to health problems. lt;/p>Did you know that the mere presence of a smartphone or tablet in a child’s bedroom is enough to disrupt their sleep? &This is due to the anticipation of a message - which means that they never fully relax. In addition to this, the study found that using devices at any point in the 90 minutes before bedtime more than doubles the risk of a poor night’s sleep.


Smart advice: Charge your phone overnight in the kitchen and go to bed earlier. If you do this, the chances are you will be stronger, healthier, happier and smarter.
