I want to outline 10 strategies that will help you with your learning journey to achieve fluency in a desired foreign language. These 10 learning hacks can be applied to learning any foreign language. I have applied them myself when learning English, Spanish, French and Latin. Let`s have a look at them now, shall we? :)

#1 Decide on your MOTIVE to learn a foreign language. Why is this important? Firstly, because having the right motivation to learn a language will speed up the process of learning a new language. And secondly, because it will help you decide on what exactly YOU WANT to learn.

#2 Once you have decided on what is your motive of learning a new language you can pin point the CONTENT you would like to learn.

#3 Choose your preferred METHOD of learning a foreign language. Different people learn in different ways. It is important that you use the METHOD of learning that suits your LEARNING STYLE.

#4 Make sure you MAKE TIME for your learning. It is very important that you allocate a specific day and time on which you will be learning language.

#5 If your budget allows it consider getting at least 1 lesson per week with a PROFESSIONAL TUTOR/TEACHER who is specialised in language you want to learn. (and I am not referring to practicing language with a native speaker who is not a language specialised). Teaching a language is an art and not everyone can do it.

#6 Use TECHNOLOGY to your advantage alongside other resources. Don`t rely solely on the apps when it comes to learning a language.

#7 IMMERSE yourself in a foreign language. you probably have heard this but it does really work if you surround yourself with a language on a daily basis.

#8 Learning by yourself requires you to SET GOALS for yourself so that you have something to aim for. Ask yourself this question: How long do you want to take to master the language?

#9 Find an ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER to keep you motivated. There will be times when you will feel like you are stuck and that your learning is not progressing, so having someone to remind you of why did you start learning a language can help.

#10 Learn about the CULTURE. YES, when it comes to learning a language it`s not only about learning meanings of words and set phrases. It goes way beyond that. Learning about local festivals, traditions etc. will help you understand the language.

Results? When you implement these techniques you will achieve tangible results:

  • You will learn how to USE language in the context and in a daily conversations (in real life situations).
  • You will learn how to PRONOUNCE words accurately .
  • You will learn how to UNDERSTAND, what native speakers are saying to you. You will get used to understand the language when spoken at a normal pace.
  • You will learn how to speak like the locals do (to sound naturally). No more awkward sentences that sound robotic in the language you are learning.

If you want to dwell into learning Spanish or Russian or Slovene contact me to enquire about 1 to 1 tuitions, group sessions or online courses.I have successfully learned English, Spanish, French and Latin applying these techniques. And I promise you they REALLY do work as long as you are consistent.
