How To Succeed In A Level Chemistry
Date : 03/05/2022
Many students find this course really challenging.
Not only do we have a lot of content, the examiners can give you unusual examples in the guise of applying your knowledge to unfamiliar examples! Deep joy.
My recommendation to you if you are starting this journey is to enjoy becoming more independent. What I mean by that is that it is your A level and your future. You know you need to study this A level, so study it. Don t just sit there in class waiting for the information, read your text book beforehand. Flipped learning is great, you can wow your friends and grab yourself some great kudos by helping them out, because you have already studied the content. You will have new magical powers and possibly new friends to boot.
Do plenty of practise, you would never sit your driving test, if you have not driven on the roads so practise past paper questions with the mark schemes so YOU can see your mistakes.
Don t fret if you don t understand it straightaway, that is normal. Your brain will continue to process new ideas whilst you sleep, so yes get plenty of sleep too.
Learn to love moles even more than before. Try to ask your self the question, does this answer make sense? If you have calculated an activation energy that is + 2 000, 000 kJ, hmmmmm think again. Plus when you read the questions, ask yourself why have they told me that, why have they given me a concentration and a volume . Errr to perchance calculate moles my friend.
Failing that, get a tutor, we are always there to help you out!!! Good luck.
