Statement:

This law states that any object that is at rest or moving with uniform velocity (smoothly or without abrupt motion) will retain it`s state(rest or movement) until an external unbalanced force influence.

Illustration and explanation:

If we kick a football or roll a ball , it would be stopped after covering few meters. What is the reason over here? By Newton law of inertia it should continue it`s motion in a straight line. It means there is an external force acting upon ball we rolled. What are/is forces? On this case we can see that unbalanced external forces are air resistance, friction by grass/ground surface that will oppose the motion and lead the fall to a stop eventually.

If a spaceship is revolving in sky around a planet such that it`s engine dies. Now what will happen? Would it stop? Or continue revolving around the planet? What Newton law state about the given scenario?

According to law, Spaceship that was revolving should move in a straight line (tangent to the circular path it initially has) as there is no force (engine dies) to keep it in circular path. And this spaceship has to continue it`s straight line motion until disturbed by external force.
