Holistic Approach To Learn Maths

In this article I aim to give you an insight into my tutoring approach.

I believe that to be academically successful, we benefit from a holistic approach to learning. Academic success goes hand in hand with emotional well being. Acquiring knowledge is as important as learning how to control our emotions, both during lessons and when sitting exams too.

Achieving good grades is an ongoing process which requires constant practice, investigation and curiosity. I would sum it up as, learning all the time and as much as possible, from anybody and everybody .

Any occasion is a good learning experience, and we should use our mistakes as learning opportunities.

I believe that learning exam strategies will enhance performance and give you better results. Mapping out the time to solve problems will help you learn to avoid wasting time. I also teach that taking a break from a problem can be beneficial. It is far better to revisit and approach it from a different angle. Remember that sometimes we need to try one problem several times or ask for help.

Every learner has to find his or her best learning strategy and I can guide you with this. I have students that learn on the go when they are on the train or the bus, while others prefer to set time to study and need to have no distractions. Either way you choose, don t forget to be ready to learn at any time when your brain is ready- so I always recommend that you have the means to record the solution straight away.
