Writing Sentences

Verbs come in three main tenses ~ past, present, future.

Now let`s look at sentence structure:

• Simple
• Compound
• Complex

A simple Sentence: (Has one main verb). `He walked &quickly back to the house`.

A Compound Sentence: (Has more than one verb). `George realized he could hear voices, so he walked quickly back to the house`.

A Complex Sentence: (Subordinate Clauses). `George wanted to stay inside, despite the rain`.

Subordinate Clauses usually begin with a subordinate conjunction: although, despite, because.
