Task 1: Writing ratios
1) Write the ratio of blue squares to red squares. 2) Write the ratio of green squares to orange squares. 3) Sandy has 10 sweets. Emily has 9 sweets. Write the ratio of sweets Sandy has to the number of sweets Emily has. 4) Anna has 14 teddy bears. Simon has 16 teddy bears. Hayley has 1 teddy bear. Write the ratio of Anna s teddy bears to Simon s teddy bears to Hayley s teddy bears.5) Erik has £30 whilst his brother Ted has £601. Write the ratio of money Erik has to the amount of money Ted has. However, Angela believes she should get the larger portion because she was the one who suggested going on the game show and she needs the money more as her house recently flooded. She wants to split the money in the ratio 7:5. How much more money would Angela get splitting it her way, rather than Paul s way?Task 4: Knowing one total1) Kaleb and Lacie go for a walk when Sonny stubbles across some money on the ground. Lacie wants to share the money with Kaleb but wants more because she was the one to find the money. So, she decides to split the money in the ratio 13:7. Lacie gets £104. How much money does Sonny receive?2) Gregg and Jane love sausage rolls and decide to share some in the ratio 5:7. Jane gets 21 sausage rolls.
