Recipe For Success

1. Discipline, determination, dedication and desire. To be successful at anything, there needs to be some sacrifice otherwise you will pay the ultimate sacrifice!

2. Get a text book relative to your board e.g Edexcel, AQA etc.

3. Make brief notes from the text book in your own words focusing on the worked examples from the book. Make it neat and tidy and use colour. This will create a valuable revision aid for exams.

4. Get hold of past papers, even from the old style exams, and practice questions over and over again. Even questions you can do so that you become quicker at doing those questions. This will give you back time in your exam. If you can`t answer questions, look at the answers and from that learn how to answer those questions.

5. Don`t worry too much about time to start with but as you get closer to the exam do some timed exams.

6. Show all your working. If you just put down the answer to a 4 mark question, you will get 1 mark. If you show all your working but put the wrong answer, you might get 3 marks.

7. Get in the zone and work at speed but not so fast you make errors as a result.

8. If you have time left at the end of your exam, check your work.

9. If struggling, consider a Tutor who is patient and able to work at a pace that meets your needs. Who will teach you the subjects and can leave you work to complete and collect and mark it the next week giving you feedback. On completion of the syllabus will focus on past papers and can offer guidance with any homework issues.
