Studying is an important aspect of a student s daily life. However, in order to score high and efficient, it is not the hours that one studies that accounts for but it is how efficiently a student studies. The following are acts and things a student is suggested to follow in order to gain a higher outcome in upcoming exam series.

1. Distractions, Dissipation, Disturbance must be avoided at ALL costs.

The 3 D s that should be avoided in order to revise and study adequately. Distractions are often around us the most popular one being our phone Regularly checking your phone after 5 minutes of reviewing won t do you any good. Instead keep it away for a few hours and completely indulge in the study session to make the best of the time you have. Constantly eyeing your phone will just disturb your aura of seriousness!

Watch out for anything that might distract you from concentrating on the tasks by changing up your location or sitting in a place that s quiet. (perhaps a local library!)

2. Study sessions are a myth.

You might encounter some of your friends planning to study together and invite you to come along Take their invitation with a grain of salt and reject politely.

Group studies often result in lack of attentiveness and more clustering and often more interference! Statistics support this claim by advising students to study alone as It results in less agitation and confusion.

Remember you have to do the exam solo and not with your friends so do not waste your time in indulging in something that might end up wasting your time. After all when the exams are near, the clock tends to tick faster.

3. Take Small Steps Don t leap.

You can t learn the entire syllabus of a subject in a day. Give yourself some credit and spread out your learning. Divide your study sessions into hours and days and plan out what you intend to revise each day. This helps you in staying motivated for revision and you will be able to grasp what you are learning.

If you try to learn the entire syllabus, or various topics in a day, you ll end up remembering none. Hence, the most sensible thing to do is take small steps each day to know what you are learning rather than let it slip from your mind.

4. Stay Motivated It s all worth it!

In order to keep studying consistently and efficiently, it is important to stay motivated and on your best mood at all times. Some students find it helpful to look amongst motivational quotes which keep them going. Others look up inspirational speeches whatever is your go-to, remember to keep in mind why you started studying and the happiness you ll obtain once you get those A s!

If you feel demotivated, talk to an adult about it or take aa break Don t push yourself too much, it s nerve wrecking and unhealthy.

5. Practice it till you Perfect it.

Practice, Practice, Practice!

This is important for all subjects and requires time and focus. You should practice solving vaious questions related to the content coming up in your exam. Try Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Fill in the Blanks, True or False, Case study related questions and Past Papers!

These are helpful as they help you prepare for the possible questions that may arrive in the test. Solving Past Paper questions also means that you are aware of the structure of the exam, which helps you in predicting what to look forward to in the test.

6. Say NO to All- Nighters

This point relates with the previous points too. In order to give the exam properly, you must be attentive and awake. If you are not able to gain at least 8 hours of sleep, it an result in fatigue and tiredness. It is important to stay hydrated, eat healthy and light snacks before the exam and get your sleeping schedule in place!

Lack of sleepiness might result in little to no concentration, demotivation, drowsiness. Think about this: If you are unable to stay awake in the exam hall, how does all the studying you went through ever matter?

7. Be and think positive!

Your demeanour towards exams matters a lot. Thinking pessimistic thoughts and outcomes will only trouble you before, during and after the exam. Instead, try to make the best of what you wrote or achieved during the exam and hope for the best.

Avoid discussing what you wrote in your paper with your friends and fellow classmates as it might increase your nerves about what you wrote incorrect or correct.

8. Take a Break, Take a KitKat!

Studying for hours on end will not get you anywhere. Try taking constant and little breaks to make sure you re clutching all the syllabus and context that you are studying. Take a walk or talk to a friend to relax.

The important part of studying, as mentioned before, is not the length of studying but the efficiency of studying.

9. & Keep track of your learning.

Note or Jot down the topics that have been covered and find unique ways to remember what you ve learnt. You can do so by using flashcards or carrying out simple quizzes online or in your textbook Make sure you use the best of the technology that has been bestowed on you.

Also, make sure to recall and frame your learning. These are tips that help you with last minute revision.

10. Ask for guidance

Say you are unsure of a topic that s coming up in the exam soon make sure you ask your assigned teacher for clearance or hire a tutor to help you out. They are experienced and well- informed in the subject and can assist you in your weaknesses, Hence eliminating any chances of you making minor mistakes.

Don t keep your doubts to yourself ask before it s too late!

These are pieces of advice that can help you achieve better, but you ve got to keep in mind that success and those A stars lie in your hand. If you want it, you ve got to work for it.. Don t Procrastinate, Start working!
