INTRODUCTION:

There is a famous saying: health is wealth . This assignment will cover concepts and characteristics related with nutritional health. It also highlights possible influences on dietary intake plan to improve the nutritional health of the chosen individual realistic recommendations for minimizing negative influences. (WHO, 1985)

NUTRITION:

Nutrients comprises of numerous chemical constituents in the food that makes each individual`s diet. A proper quantity of nutrients in the diet is compulsory for giving energy, building and maintaining. (Wardlaw and Kessel, 2002)

P1: EXPLAIN CONCEPTS ASSOCIATED WITH NUTRITIONAL HEALTH [CT1 CT2 SM2]

Food: It is an Eatable or drinkable material. It consists of nutritious and healthy components for example, proteins, fats, carbohydrates vital mineral and vitamins. These healthy stuff sustains life and growth, produces energy, care, and health of the body.

Diet: it is the sum of food taken by an individual. Usually word diet indicates the use of particular type of consumption of nutrition for health.

Meals and Snacks:

Snack: it is a part of food, slighter than a usual meal. Usually it is eaten among meals. They are available range of forms including packed snack foods, along with substances made from fresh components at home.

Meals: Majority of people, eat about three main meals daily, however There are seven other meals that we frequently use:

Breakfast: It is very leading meal of the day.

Brunch: it is the meal eaten in the late morning. It is usually taken between breakfast and lunch.

Elevenses: it is type of A snack for instance, coffee, tea

Tea

Supper

Dinner

Nutrients: They are the importance substances of food. Our body processes this food and allows body to function. A nutrient requirement of different human being is different it depends growth stage age, and activity. There are two types of nutrients:

Macronutrients: It consist of protein, fats, carbohydrates,

Micronutrients: It consists of minerals and vitamin for example calcium, iron, and vitamin C-

Malnutrition: It is the lack or scarcity of nutrients and vitamins in human body. It occurs due to unbalanced diet. Its Symptoms are dizziness, fatigue, and weight loss.

BMI (body mass index):

It is a simple guide of weight-for-height. It is usually used to categorize overweight and obesity in adults. In this process we divide weight in kilograms by height in meters.

obesity: Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health

Over weight: This is the boosted body weight of the individual. It is very dangerous for human being health it brings a lot of deadly diseases, like, stroke, heart disease, pregnancy complications, and gall bladder problems.

Growth Charts:

They contain a series of percentile bends. It explains the distribution of particular body measurements in children. They show the outline of children s height and weight increase over time, and shows whether or not they are rising proportionately. It can also show health problems for children.

Dietary reference values

This is used to calculate the suggested nutritional consumptions for UK inhabitants. This help to compute the quantity of nutrients and energy required by diverse groups of fit and healthy people in UK population.
