The main purpose of these few lines is to show you certain aspects I have personally realised through the years when combining my studies in English as a foreign language and music (cello) that go beyond the fact of learning some words in a new language or learning how to physically play an instrument. Let s not remain at a superficial level but get a closer look and approach to it.

Music and languages are key elements in life as they both open doors to new experiences and ways of communication. They are two channels of expression of subjectivity and personal externalisation of emotions. We can create art with them. They are ART.

It is stunning how the process of learning both disciplines during a period of time of practice and routine teaches you so much about other aspects in life even before you get the chance to be actually conscious of it. It slowly gives shape to the person you truly are inside and out, and the way you behave on a daily basis.

Patience, concentration, dedication, self-esteem, motivation, self-discipline, coordination, sense of responsibility and confidence are just a sample of the additional benefits music and languages can bring to you and your personality. Deep down both music and languages contribute to make soulful creatures develop an awareness of respect through the importance of communication.

It doesn t matter if it is through words or musical notes Express yourself Share your emotions and don t forget to enjoy the process!
