Spanish is a language that is spoken in geographically diverse territories. Besides being spoken in Spain, Spanish is spread, from one to the other end of the world, in Mexico, Central America, and Southern America, and part of the USA. Spanish is also spoken in Equatorial Guinea.

Today Spanish is an official and cultural language of approximately 400 million people in 22 different countries. Spanish is also spoken in 25 countries where it is not their official language. The total of people who speak Spanish in the world is 474 millions and it is rising according to estimates.

The continuation of this language in the world is due to its characteristics of homogeneity, compactness and vicinity in the geographical distribution. Spanish being at the same time cultural language and prestige language. Spanish is a language of constant expansion, Spanish in international communication is the second most spoken language in the world, after English. Spanish is three times bigger than French in speaking numbers.
