Information about Wumi
I am a qualified doctor and a neuroscience graduate who is committed to helping students reach their full potential in their studies. I am passionate about the sciences and I hope to be able to evoke the same enthusiasm in my students. With over 9 years tutoring experience, I have extensive experience working with young people and believe I have the skill set to help them achieve their best. I have worked with students from disadvantaged backgrounds which has helped me hone my communication skills.
I currently mentor aspiring medics and provide help with their personal statements and UCAT and BMAT preparations and have had success with mentees gaining admission to various medical schools including BSMS , UCL and KCL. Having also gone through the process of both neuroscience and medical school applications, UCAT and BMAT I understand how this can be a daunting process. I am therefore happy to offer advice and help with personal statements, UCAT and BMAT preparation and mock interviews.
Availability: Evenings and weekends
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I have experience tutoring young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in GCSE Biology, Chemisty and Physics as part of King`s college London`s Rising Leaders Programme. This involved running a Saturday school for students in inner city schools in a bid to boost their grades and I am pleased to say we achieved this goal with my students obtaining A/A* grades. Furthermore, I have amassed extensive experience tutoring A-level students in Biology all of which have been extremely successful in their endeavours. For both GCSE and A-level I have experience with the OCR, Edexcel, Edexcel salters and AQA curricula.
In my current role as a doctor I`m involved in teaching medical students and physician`s associates students helping to improve their clinical knowledge and understanding of both common and complex conditions.
