Information about Todd
I am a fully qualified CELTA teacher and a professional actor. I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. I have a passion for the arts, mainly English Literature, Language, the Theatre and Film. I have a 1st class honours degree in English Literature and Drama from the University of Manchester and am vastly experienced in acting and performance.
Availability: I am available to tutor at all times.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I work part time as a EFL Teacher at a prestigious college in Euston and tutor privately in my spare time.
I have tutored dyslexic and dyspraxic students at university level in both English and Drama, as well as working with young actors on their performances and for drama school auditions. In 2009 I spent 4 weeks in Northern India teaching and workshopping Drama with children aged 11-17, culminating in a workshop residency at the Jaipur Literature Festival.
My approach to tutoring is a practical, "hands-on" method: with texts, I aim to contextualise the piece in terms of the student`s own experiences, discovering what it is that they can identify and relate to that means they can connect with it. I like to use physical methods of text exploration, as well as language and character focus.
