Information about Steve
I am a Northamptonshire based musician and have recently spent three years at Leeds College of Music where he earned a BA (Hons) in Jazz Studies.
I am an Alto / Soprano saxophonist and have built up extensive experience in performing and session playing alike. I have played many venues up and down the country including The Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Royal Albert Hall and was given a National Youth award for best improvisor in 2000
During my time at Leeds I have been able to play with and also listen to a lot of great musicians. I was a member of the college big band under the direction of Al Wood and was lucky enough to perform with special guest Sir John Dankworth. Other work shops include that of Gerald Presencer, The Yellow Jackets and the legendary saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi
I Also won the George Murphy Prize for Jazz Saxophone in 2007.
As well as working with Jazz ensembles and big bands, I have a regular function band who have an ever increasing clientele

Experience: I have been playing for 19 years. I have expertise in both classical and Jazz styles including improvisation.
I have performed with many bands including function bands, big bands, Trio`s, quartet`s and quintet`s.
I have also played many venues around the UK.
