Carl

I am currently working as a full-time classroom teacher. My role has the additional responsibility of leading music across the school; this includes choir, whole school singing, ‘Rock School’, and after school music/arts provision. I work in conjunction with external bodies including Durham Music Service and Tees Valley Music. I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. I enjoy reading, walking, cycling, theatre and watching live music and dance. I enjoy writing for a range of purposes and am currently part of the ‘Writer’s Guild’.
I am passionate about teaching and learning. I am committed to personalised learning and tailor my teaching to the needs of the individual learner. I believe that learning should be enjoyable and therefore strive to plan and deliver my teaching with this goal in mind.
As a teacher, I feel it is a privilege to have an opportunity to facilitate learning and see an individual reach their full potential.

Availability: I am available weekday evenings from 4pm.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have been a primary teacher for 20 years. I have taught in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I have had experience of teaching in Year 6 and of teaching towards Year 6 SATs. Furthermore, I have been tutoring on a one to one basis for 27 years. I offer literacy, numeracy and Science tuition. Additionally, I am an experienced musician and can offer tuition on acoustic/electric guitar and bass. I am able to offer tuition through the `Rock school` examination grades, or alternatively, the tuition can be less formal and purely for enjoyment.
