Information about Suzy
Hello, I am Suzy. I was born in Shanghai and educated at Shanghai Teachers University. I have lived in the UK since 2001.
I specialise in Mandarin Chinese at GCSE and A level. Since 2012, I have taught both Edexcel and AQA exam boards at private schools and Oxford Sixth Form College. All of my students have achieved Grade 9 at GCSE and Grade A at A level.
I have over 25 years of experience teaching Mandarin to both adults and children.

I hold three enhanced DBS certificates and have completed child protection training, safeguarding adults awareness training, and a diversity in the workplace course.

Suzy is a truly amazing tutor. She took my under-confident daughter, Bea (who hated chinese) from a predicted B/C to getting an A* in her GCSE. She is kind, thoughtful and inspiring. She took the time to work out how Bea`s mind works (my daughter is more of a scientist than a natural linguist) and once Suzy had done that she was able to teach her in a way that Bea understood and was able to fully engage with. This built Bea`s confidence tremendously. The lessons were obviously enjoyable as Bea spontaneously asked for more and the GCSE result speaks for itself. Suzy, is reliable, was never late and was incredibly flexible around our other family commitments. Honestly Suzy, we cannot thank you enough.

Suzy is definitely 5* plus and I feel so lucky that we are working with her on my son`s GCSE Chinese. She is a great teacher, being very friendly and good at getting the point across, but she also provides the useful background information that a native speaker possesses.
