Information about Susan
Hi, my name is Sue and I am a qualified primary teacher with 18 years experience of teaching children across the primary age range. Additionally, I have specialised as a one to one tutor in schools for several years, working with children who are experiencing difficulties, with gifted and talented children, and those who are not quite reaching their potential. I will assess your child`s strengths and weaknesses to plan individually tailored sessions. Helping to build up your child`s confidence within a supportive and fun session is my aim. I am enthusiastic and able to teach core and foundation subjects up to lower secondary level. Discounts can be made for block/group bookings and I offer a free introductory assessment/get to know you session.
My interests are varied including fell walking, Zumba, cycling, reading and spending time with friends.I enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Availability: Evenings, weekends and school holidays. I am happy to work in my home or yours.I will provide teaching materials suitable for your child including paper, writing materials, games, reading overlays etc.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I am reading recovery trained and qualified (to significantly improve reading, writing and speaking/listening skills). I have also taught maths recovery. I have experience in teaching children with special educational needs (e.g. Aspergers, speech and language difficulties, global delay). My interests in teaching extend to forest schools, Philsophy for children (P4C) and developing materials for different learning styles.
