I have been a qualified teacher for 35 years, specialising in Maths and Dyslexia support, teaching face-to-face and online. I am a senior examiner for both GCSE and A Level Maths. I have also trained with Tony Buzan, becoming one of only a few Licensed Instructors in the world able to instruct in memory techniques, mind mapping and creative thinking. I always personalise my tutoring to the specific needs of each my students and my creative approach to teaching and learning has ensured considerable success for my students e.g. significant improvement in Maths grades, effective use of study and revision skills, greater confidence and self esteem, coping strategies for dyslexic issues, reading, spelling and writing improvement for dyslexic learners, etc.. I believe in `talking Maths` to help students with the complex problem solving approaches now built into the new GCSE and A Level exams.

All rates listed are for tuition at my home or online. A charge for travel, dependent on location could be added for tuition at the student`s home depending on distance travelled.

I tutor Maths from GCSE/IGCSE to A level and am familiar with all GCSE and A level specifications. I have also helped a number of adult students to pass GCSE Maths and to prepare for the Teacher Numeracy Test or other professional examinations. I have worked with students from primary to undergraduate level in need of dyslexia support and help with literacy. I also coach students of all ages in Tony Buzan`s techniques of mind mapping and memory skills.

Availability: Day-time, evenings, weekends. A level students can often fit in lessons during free periods from college when they do not need to go in early or can come home at lunchtime. I also teach during school holidays, including the summer holidays.

I now offer online tutoring using ZOOM and a visualiser - this tool allows me to write normally on paper and live stream what I am writing to the student`s screen.
