Positive, friendly and experienced teacher who is both a professional cellist and academic. Having trained at the Royal Academy of Music, I am able to teach:

Having completed a PhD at Oxford, and having published my work in high-ranking journals, I also have a very strong academic background in the following subjects:

English
Writing skills
Research skills
History
19th and 20th century philosophy and literature
Music history and theory.

Self-belief and a basic confidence that one can fulfil one`s potential is crucial to learning, and it is this element which I principally aim to instill in my pupils, through positive encouragement.

With this as a foundation, I then attempt to gauge the pupil`s particular abilities and aptitude in order to provide them with focused and realistic goals.

Availability: Available weekdays (both during the day and in the evening), and weekends.

Experience: Here is a brief summary of my teaching experience:

- I have 12 years experience, totally around 2,500 hours` teacing
- I have taught children of primary and secondary school age
- I have worked with many adult students, either learning instruments or studying at Bachelors, Masters and PhD level
- I have taught in several primary and secondary schools across London (primarily St Cecilia`s, Wandsworth, for five years)


My preference now is to focus on adult learners and children of secondary school age, especially AS and A Level students
