This is a saying I truly believe in and I am passionate about bringing out the best in my students by offering them the right skills. I aim to offer my guidance, impart my knowledge and share my enthusiasm for a stimulating subject of Economics. I am passionate about the subject and this passion rubs on the students I teach. My ability to make good connections with the real world and bring economic theories to life by drawing examples from the world economies makes learning an exciting journey rather than a mundane task. 

A passionate educationist, with over 12 years of teaching experience, ranging from GSCEs to undergraduate level. I have taught both as a classroom teacher and a private tutor. My experience, as a classroom teacher, helps me to understand and relate to the students` needs in terms of homework, internal exams etc. I am currently the Head of Economics in an independent school. 

I am highly trained, as a qualified teacher on how to differentiate between students and how to create resources specifically for them. On the other hand, my experience as a private tutor enables me to effectively engage with students on an individual basis and tailor-make resources to suit their profile. Having access to hundreds of high-quality resources and the ability to adapt them to suit the needs of a student, gives me the ability to give students a tailor-made package of resources based on their ability. To continue my professional development, I go on regular teacher training courses which range from differentiation to grade improvement. 

I am confident both with local and international students. I have experience of teaching international students, where English is not the first language, and have designed CLIL resources particularly for them.

Besides being a teaching professional and a tutor, I also have industry experience. This is very valuable for students looking to seek help on career planning and to be able to apply theories to real life, this makes subject theories relevant to the students hence improving their understanding of concepts. This is most relevant to students who learn from my first-hand experiences of working in the City  I have also mentored students on UCAS personal statements, in particular when applying to study Business, Economics or Management. 

I have an excellent track record of fantastic grades, with long term tutoring I have helped my students to improve by 2 grades,on average. Students start to see the benefit from the first lesson. The focus of lessons is twofold, one is to teach the concepts effectively and the second is to work on exam skills and practise exam questions. My biggest strength is exam skills, my experience as a GCSE and A level examiner (CIE), has given me the expertise to deliver the content, keeping the examiner`s expectations in mind.  Students are trained to answer the questions keeping the Assessment objectives in mind, hence gaining an opportunity to put on paper what the examiner wants to see therefore ensuring high grades. 

My success also lies in the fact that I am well informed and experienced in teaching subject specifications under various exam boards, I have taught on Edexcel , AQA ,OCR and IB. . It is one thing to know the content but another to answer keeping the assessment objectives of specific to each exam board.  A specialist tutor, like me, can help a student to understand the requirement in terms of assessment objectives for each exam board and answer accordingly. This makes the key difference between a generalist and a specialist tutor I believe. 

After covering content, my focus is on providing students with exam skills training. My exam skills training focuses on : 
1. How to answer Multiple choice questions effectively, using a process of elimination. 
2. How to develop chains of  logical step by step analysis (Useful for both short and essay questions)
3. Use graphs effectively to add value to your analysis t gain application marks.
4. Discuss relevant examples from current affairs and make relevant links to the subject content.
5. How to structure essays, paragraph by paragraph for a clear understanding.
6. How to deconstruct the question and understand what is being truly asked?  very relevant as students mostly don`t know what the examiner really wants to know. 
7. How to effectively evaluate like,  by being critical of the assumptions of the model etc. This is one of the most important skills and is a source of high order marks.
